In Mauritania having power men is is accomplished by women by being so fat that rolls cascade over the gut and stretch marks are everywhere on the body that is considered sexy by the men.
But for the women it’s not about beauty or anything else other than a woman’s desire to have “power over men”.
“When I realized the power I had over men, I started to enjoy being fat.”
Whatever men in a society deem sexy women will torture themselves to look like. That is rather than be a nicer person so they can have “power over men” — bully them.
