Mortgage Horror Stories: The U.S. Housing Industry Will Never Recover If Qualified People Can’t Get A Home Loan

By | July 6, 2010

It was an orgy of mortgage lending.  Six years ago just about anyone could get a mortgage. Lending institutions were handing out ridiculously bloated home loans to anyone who breathed. It didn’t matter if you had a rotten credit history, it didn’t matter if you didn’t have a job and in some cases it didn’t even matter if you had any income at all.  Now mortgage lenders have completely overreacted and now a lot of highly qualified people can’t get a home loan.  People with loans that need a little consideration because the banks have crashed the economy so bad that they are out of a job are left out on their own or jerked around with some “process” that is little different than psychological torture.  The fact that cars filled with god knows what are not being driven into banks on a daily basis just amazes me.  The capacity for the average American to behave in a civil manner when being cheated is beyond my ability to comprehend.
